Fremde Freunde

After Ehssan`s and Hassan`s father had died, the twins decided to leave Kabul and go to Germany taking their mother, younger brother and sister with them. They arrived a year ago. Alpha still has a brother living in the city, their uncle is staying somewhere in the USA. Kaskas family dies when a bomb hit their house in Magadishu. Kaska himself had already arrived in Europe then.

The four teenagers find a friend and father figure in Australian youth worker Jarrod Wheatley. They are drawn to him sharing their experience being foreign and living in the uncertainty about their future life in Germany.
The documentary laughs and cries with the boys, sits in their room waiting for a future that doesn`t want to show itself, but never looses its hope. Meanwhile the film builds ties between the viewer and the characters, a net that links people´s inner feelings and lets us forget about being strangers.
