Exile in Waterloo

Yangu, Franck and Floribert live in exile in Waterloo. They are the founders of the political youth-movement ‘Filimbi’ in Congo, for which they have been persecuted and branded as ‘terrorists’ by the state. The situation is tense and time is running out. A new government is to be elected in Congo at the of 2016, and the incumbent President Kabila is doing everything he can to remain in power. Through their activism, the trio attempt to mobilize society from afar. ‘Exile in Waterloo’ tells their story in eight fragmented chapters: on congolese politics, on exile in Waterloo, and on a new kind of activism, waged over thousands of kilometers, that raises hope for change.
